volkerschuh 0 #1 January 2, 2004 Hi I'm thinking about the switch using with my open face helmet with a chin cup. Is it possible to use a bite-switch or do I have to use a tongue-switch? Who can help me? Thank you very much. Volk Air
jmfreefly 0 #2 January 2, 2004 I have a bonehead chincup setup, and use a conceptus bite switch without problem. It often depends on the helmet/fit. If you need to crank down your chincup so you are in a vise, then a tounge switch is probably a bit more useful.
ltdiver 3 #3 January 2, 2004 What have you used before? I've used hand, bite, and tongue switches. I prefer the tongue switch with a chin cup set-up. Prevents any movement that a bite switch gives to the frame while shooting. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
volkerschuh 0 #4 January 2, 2004 Didn't use anything before, up to now only video mounted. My helmet looks like a bonehead, but it's a "self"-made one, a skydiver from germany who makes nice helmets. Look at http://www.skyhelmets.de/Gallery%20Auswahl.htm They have a cutaway (if you want), the chincup has been mounted later on without problems. I heard the tongue switch has a longer life. And to prevent the movements I think it will be a tongue switch? Right? Thank you so far, blue skies, Volk Air

TimDave 0 #6 January 6, 2004 I have used both and prefer to use a tongue switch with the chin cup.
d15859 0 #7 January 8, 2004 I'll sell ya a bite switch cheap.....you'll get an up and down bob in your video every time you bite it with a chin cup....., A tongue switch is where I'm going next....
skychic68 0 #8 January 8, 2004 The tongue switch is sooooooo nice. No bobbing required. A fellow photographer actually bit through two of his switches. If your helmet is really tight and if your teeth are sharp, you may run into buying yourself a lot of switches. Regardless, either setup is much better than the old hand held switches we used to use. Ain't technology great Que sera sera
