Tibo 0 #1 January 26, 2004 Hi, I'm a french videoman and I'd like to buy a new helmet (my third one). I want to use a sony TRV so to fix it on the top of the helmet. Does anyone could gave me links for vdohelmet, because I search for one which cover all the face (not as invertigo) or I also search for a leo dickinson one. mr2mk1g 10 #2 January 26, 2004 The phrase we use for a helmet that covers all the face is "full face" or "fullface". Try searching for those. First example that springs to mind is the Flat Top Pro from bone head which is an expensive model aimed at professional camera men. http://www.boneheadcomposites.com/flattop.htm
DaGimp 0 #3 January 26, 2004 One thing that you want to look at is what your going to use it for and what all your gona put on the helmet. I personally intended on just video and got the Flat Top Narrow. Now Im looking into a still camera and flash, real estate is the key....i now wish i got the Flat Top Pro."Professor of Pimpology"~~~Bolas
Tibo 0 #4 January 27, 2004 Thank you for your answer, I think that "bone head" are very good products, for the application that I want to have (video an picture for RW and tandem). Safe jumps; see u in the sky
skyjuggler 0 #5 January 27, 2004 I went for a RAWA helmet from BRazil. They make custom sized helmets for you, and they are hand crafted pieces of art. They come with a flat top, and have the option of a box on the left side of the helmet. I got mine without the box so I could do my own mount. Price without the box is around $250 or something like that. It was made within the week and shipped over to me. Oh they have 2 audible mounts inside. The only problem with bonehead helmets are they make one size shell and then fit different liners to adjust the size. I also liked the Haweye helmet. But when I saw a Rawa, and found out they do custom fittings, that was it for me. My choice, the RAWA.
cheneyneel 0 #6 January 28, 2004 As skyjuggler says.. RAWA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is nothing out there better and more comfortable.. and the price is better than any other on the market.. Plus they look cool as hell. Like a camera helmet should look...
Tibo 0 #7 January 28, 2004 Is there a website for this helmet ???
mr2mk1g 10 #8 January 28, 2004 The rawa website can be found here:http://www.rawa.com.br although its all in portugese and the english website is not yet built. If you want to find out about it searching on here is probably your best bet, there are loads of threads and plenty of good photos. I nearly went for it but got an FF2 instead. skyjuggler 0 #9 January 28, 2004 Web site never worked when I ordered it. But I have the email if you want it. The dude Claudio was very helpful and is the sales guy as the guy who actually makes the helmets only speaks Portugese. Get one, they rock! Really comfortable and fits like a glove.
