help needed with DV codec in Premier...

ok. so after i was shot with a sign in my hands - i want to put the movie in a project of Premier 5. i DON'T have a video card, therefore i asked the photographer to give me the material as it is - on video. now the problem is that my Premier doesn't know that DVcodec!!! ahhhh!!!! what can i do? i want that movie to be in my project! please help!

Premiere 5 was as buggy as a bunkhouse mattress.
I wouldn't even begin to try and get it to work.
Go with 4.2 or 6 (6 or later preferred) and you'll have much better luck.

How did you get the rest of your movie footage onto your computer?

And you don't have a video card? Do you have any sort of firewire or analogue inputs at all?
Your going to need some sort of video interface, or the means to transfer moving pics from tape to say memory card or equivalent.....
For what its worth, premiere could not work with OHCI compatible files till version 6. Prior to that, codecs were hardware specific for the camera interface. EG if you wanted to output your movie via, say a miro DV300 card, you had to have the correct mirodv codec.
