mdwhalen 0 #1 March 3, 2004 Last week I received my Version 9 upgrade to Pinnacle Studio. I am a big fan of Version 8 (actually 8.5) and was excited about 9 coming out, promising new transitions and other changes. So far I have been very disappointed to the point of thinking about deleting it and going back to 8. None of the new transitions are very good, I have had more problems with downloads and haven't really found anything about it that I like more than 8.5. I'm curious to hear about anyone else's experience with 9."I have magic buttons ;)." skymama

AlvaroCarvalho 0 #3 March 4, 2004 Hello there! I'm still using 8.0...thanks for the feedback on the 9.0 version... About the transitions, can't you just keep the Add-Ons (Hollywood FX) and forget about the default ones? Blue skies! Hey...ho...let's go!
Billy 0 #4 March 4, 2004 I just got 8 working the way it's supposed to,, took months to get it tweaked just right with WinXP-Pro, and Sony burner,, I'm not touching that bastard! Natural Born FlyerZ.com
mdwhalen 0 #5 March 4, 2004 There are some new Hollywood FX transitions that you can go to their website and download. None of them was very interesting, to me anyway. They are certainly not worth the price of admission."I have magic buttons ;)." skymama
freakydiver 0 #6 March 4, 2004 Hah as did I, I don't really think the new version is any better at all... Transitions blah blah blah... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

jkbasejumper 0 #8 March 5, 2004 yes i know what you mean 9.0 is not all that. i like 8.5 alot better but, if you are serius about edditing videos you need to update to liquid edition or the pro version. it is a little more money and a little harder to use but in the end you can make some really nice videos. forget transistions...they are cool and and all but being able to tweak the actual footage itself is much better.then adding transistions to cleaner video makes a much nicer finished product. after all you know we have to clean up the camera guy's mess sometime. haha!big country base998
WayCool 0 #9 March 5, 2004 I just installed version 8.3.17 on XP Pro and really like how quick and easy it was to use. Got a quite good production after only 5 hours. I got a perfect export to DV tape. The problem is I want to make VCDs and when I tried it I can only get it to play in my lap top and it skips and jumps and generally just doesn't play in my consumer DVD player which says it supports VCD and SVCD. Also the menus didn't work. Tried a CDR and a CDRW and 100 and 80% SVCD formats. Any Ideas anyone? Stay Cool http://www.waycool.com.au
