FF2 camera Helmet

Recommended Posts

Awsome helmet - absolutely the best protection from line strickes you can buy and a fantastic build quality. It is one of the most expensive helmets though - but at least you get what you pay for.

There are other fully enclosed helmets out there which you may want to look at before dropping your money on one. Different people fit different helmets. See the RAWA and a Dutch one I forget the name of right now - they're the most comprable. I don't think you'll find anyone who will not recomend the FF2, (not always nessaserily over another, but they'll recomend it). Its a good helmet.

i have an FF2 with a PC103 in it. works very nicely indeed, especially on the occasions that you get riser strikes, it's nice to know the camera isn't going to take a battering. helmet fit was perfect out of the box, though yes, they are pricey. and customer service at 2K was top notch too.

There are two things on the FF2 that can be a littlte better. And yea I do have one so these are my personal experiences with it. The chin cup is not the the most comfortable one out there. Someone on another thread recomended switching to another brand of chin cup. Also the hinged cover for the camera could come about another 1/2" to help protect the wide angle lense. All but about a 1/4" of my wide angle lense is enclosed in the box. I had a riser slap the lense a couple of weeks ago and it snapped the lense off. While I feel this a freak accident (still not sure how the risers got so far in front of my face like that) If the box was a little longer in the front the risers would have struck the box instead of my lense. My lense is the same length as most peoples so I do not have an abnormally long lense hanging out there. Other than those two things, this is one of the best helemts out there. Definately the best in line snag protection. The helmet is custom fit for the diameter of your head, and they did an excellent job of making mine fit perfectly. This helmet is worth the price. Also, if you price around, The price is only about $25.00 more than most others. The reason being, Most other helmets are expensive already but you still have to buy a d-box. By then you are at the price of an FF2. Plus with the FF2 there is no building neccessary. The mount inside is variable in that you can swivel the camera angle up or down to match your needs. I can go on and on....
