jose 0 #1 April 23, 2004 I am about to get the FTP, and I have a PC120 that I need to mount. I have a bonehead box that I use on the side of my Hawkeye, but one side is flat for horizontal mounting. Is there a way to use this box on top of the FTP? Maybe a L bracket mounted to the top of the helmet with the box mounted to the L bracket? And if I am going to use my Digital Rebel, should I put it in front on the bracket, or next to the video on top?
turtlespeed 221 #2 April 23, 2004 If I understand you correctly - I think you are meaning something like this.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
Deuce 1 #3 April 23, 2004 I think he's describing the older style box that hinges up from the side. Yes, you can mount that to a Shark Fin, sold by Bonehead for about $45.
vdschoor 0 #4 April 23, 2004 Deuce, Where are the pics of your setup? I saw a post earlier saying that it was wired up. Iwan
jose 0 #5 April 23, 2004 The shark fin, if I understand correctly is just a bent piece of aluminum. Something that I can make myself easily, or is there some gimmicks that I cannot recreate that are neccesary? And finally is there a standard placement with both vid and still on top of the helmet? Thanks

Deuce 1 #7 April 23, 2004 It's set up for Beta testing this weekend. We'll get some pictures then. Once I figure out the layout we'll do it in unobtanium. I need a length of fiber optic cable to get my flashes to talk. They communicate well with lots of reflective material around, but poorly in daylight. The Master flash transmits from the front of the flash head and the Slave flash recieves on the front of the body. I need a way to transmit that light from the master unit to the slave unit. Think fiber optic will work? See you Saturday, Iwan. JP
vdschoor 0 #8 April 23, 2004 QuoteThink fiber optic will work? In theory it should work.. but finding a fiberoptic cable that is big enough to transmit enough light might get expensive.. is there no other way to fire two flashes at the same time? Quote See you Saturday, Iwan. JP You will.. Will I be able to drool over your setup?

I just found this website: http://www.paramountcords.com They make custom cords for photographers, including Y-cords (one connection on the camera, 2 for flashes) Check them out, that might be a more reliable solution.
