Yesman 0 #1 April 29, 2004 I am an Editor at a fairly busy DZ and was just wondering what an Editors (average) wages should be--- $ per video tape or DVD and/or hourly wages? Thanks for any and all help
airgord 1 #2 April 29, 2004 The editor at a DZ in Oregon was making 5.00 per video or dvd. That was last years wage not sure if it is the same.
lewmonst 0 #3 April 29, 2004 was that linear editing? At my old dz, when a jumper had broken his back, he was doing iMovie (non-linear) edits for $10 each. Prior to that, different videographers used their own editting equipment and the videos varied a lot. now at a larger dz, the linear edit is definately the way to go for the sake of time. we don't have an editor and edit our own, often to pack and do the intro to the next tandem vid all on a 20 minute call. I would definately pay someone $5 an edit if I could do more jumps that way (i.e. back to back loads) peace lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
speedy 0 #4 April 29, 2004 Get ready for this My girlfreind edits for guys at our dropzone. She gets the DV tape and brings it back to the DZ the next weekend. From the DV tape she creates either a VHS or a SVCD and then posts it to the customer. All materials and postage are paid by herself. For each video she gets........ €25 (about $28) She would not touch anything for $5 Dave Fallschirmsport Marl
