Hooknswoop 19 #26 April 11, 2003 ***Umm i've been told by my CI who's also a rigger that the drougue only collapses after the canopy is out of the bag unlike a sport rig. On the Sigma, Vector and Eclipse Tandem Systems, the drogue collapses before the canopy is out of the bag. Also, the drogue doesn't completely collapse. On sport systems the Pilot Chute doesn't collapse until after the canopy is out fo the bag. Hook
skymedic 0 #27 April 12, 2003 QuoteThe drogue collapses before the opening, when releasing it. Otherwise the pull force will be to high and it will give you a very very hard opening (and will probably damage your tandem canopy) umm...I know...so does my collapsable pilot chute. it will collapse as soon as the canopy is out of the bag. well before inflation. they both work the same way. PhreeZone 20 #28 April 12, 2003 On a tandem (Vector or Sigma at least) the Drogue is collapsed before the bag is lifted more then a foot or so off the back. The collapsing is what causes the trap door effect.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
