So, what's the dbox closing like on the Hard-deck model's dbox? The picture doesn't give a look at the back of the helmet.

The closing method on the "hard-deck" isn't visible because it's all internal. There's a captive quarter-turn fastener which you access from inside the left hand side of the helmet. Unlock and you swing the box open (hinge is on the top of the box). Close the box, turn the fastener and it's locked back into position. Neat eh ?
This means that the camera stays fixed on the mounting bracket (captive tripod screw) when the box is open so it's possible to review footage on the LCD screen. firewire footage or change batteries without removing the camera or lense.
It looks like a really well designed and well made helmet. (I've just ordered one myself based on what the people at my DZ who already own them have said about them)

I just wish there was a lip coming out from the side of the helmet to meet the d-box. This is a feature of all the other helmets boasting integrated camera mounts. A lip like this would effectively prevent a line from going in between the box and the side of the helmet as it creates an area of overlap between the box and helmet.
With this design, as the box only closes flush with the helmet, there still exists a slight risk that a line may be able to sneak on up there if forced. Ok so this is hardly something to worry about but why not design the risk out if you're asking this much for a helmet?
Maybe someone could tactfully suggest a slight remodelling to the designer? The only reason I can see for not having the lip is so that the same helmet can be offered as a simple flat side mount without the integrated box thus saving money on having two designs. Have two designs and really market the safety of the Hard-Deck helmet. It's a winning strategy.

Thanks for your comments. They are constructive which is great. I work for Fibrezone and we are always open for comments and ways to improve directly from the people who use our helmets.
ITDiver, even though we have sold this camera box (Hi Rollr X) to a couple of tandem camera jumpers who have done well over 500 jumps with it and never complained, we have been looking at other fasteners for a while for this box and see your point about snagging. Athough very unlikely it is always a possibility so will definitely look into that and find an alternate fastener.
About the lip on the helmet for the camera box, the box sits flush with the helmet with no gaps and for a line to get snagged here would definitely be unlucky! Most of our competitors have systems which are much more prone to line snags around this area but I wont go into detail and start sledging our opponents but will consider it as it is obviously a concern of skydivers.
As Mr2mk1g says, safety is always high on the list for skydivers is a great marketing strategy and designing safe, strong, comfortable workable helmets and boxes is in our best interests so thanks again for the input, oh and the chincup is on its way so stay tuned!
