HIGHSPEEDDUDE 0 #1 June 8, 2004 I need some advice. I'm looking to buy my first camera for jumping. On first look the 109 looks fine - small, widescreen option. Anyone jumping it yet? Is it a real problem with the LANC port on the helmet side? Anything else i should be aware of?? It would seem that lenses aren't a problem because both Way Cool and Royal Lens do (or will v shortly) 25mm lenses or adaptors. All comments welcome. Thanks HIGHSPEED! quade 4 #2 June 8, 2004 I'd only get the "E" version if I was living in Europe.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Squeak 17 #3 June 9, 2004 the E version is PAL, if you'recin Europe or Oz than go for it. If your a yank your need NTSC which is just a plain old 109You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing? nacmacfeegle 0 #4 June 9, 2004 The thing to check, whenever you see an E extension to a Sony camera, is whether or not it will take digital input back to the cam. In this case you are good to go. Long story short, some European models, from Sony in particular, come neutered by disabling video inputs. As Squeak points out, E-models are PAL. Squeakster, I've not forgotten you, its just that I still haven't set up my burner for that wee favour.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. HIGHSPEEDDUDE 0 #5 June 9, 2004 Thanks, i am in Europe so the 'E' is fine. Wondered what that meant. I've also been told that the camera is auto power switching so i can plug it into power in the US.

Fortunately 25mm stepper rings are available from www.generationfreefly.com. These stepper rings allow freefall videographers to install last year's Diamond 0.5, 0.3 and the latest 0.2 wide angle lenses on new SONYs camcorders.
