Latest Recomendations for DVD Recorder

Recommended Posts

What's the latest thoughts on a recomended DVD recorder?

For those who use them in the "field" whats the ones to avoid.

I am after one to produce DVD's for tandems, and would like to produce a dvd after it has gone through the mixing/audio editing system.

(Stupid question: can you pause record as you can on a video recorder?......no flames please;))

I have searched the forums post and have an idea, but would like some feedback from those who have been using their recorders for a while.

Thanks

I'm very interested to know this too. I've been looking at this option for a while now. But am leaning more towards conventional digital video then burning the edited producy onto dvd... Any comments on a viable combinations ? Cam/PC/Software/DVD burner etc

Ive been using the Go Video VR-4940 DVDR/VCR combo. So far no problems at all. It records to DVD-R or VHS tape. The DVD side works just like a VCR. You can pause recording and then start again, or if you hit the stop button then the next time you start recording it will make a new DVD chapter. After you finish editing you have to finalize the disc so that it will play in home DVD players. This takes about 2 minutes but other than that it is just like editing to a VCR. Here is a link to the unit. Hope this helps. Go Video VR-4940

Check this out. The best one that I have ever used...and I have used them all since I am in the electronics industry is the new Phillips. It records on the fly, has fire wire input, and all sorts of other goodies. No disc finalization in order to play in home DVD players..that is the best part..you can bring the dvd back in for more recording after the session yet you can play it on anything inbetween.

Go for it ..it will rock your world
