Tonto 1 #1 June 14, 2004 Hi There, I'm not a regular cameraman. I have maybe 350 camera dives, sometimes years apart. I did 3 wingsuit dives with camera this past weekend, and it occured to me that you won't get much, unless you're above and behind some other wingsuit pilot, since we look down so much. Does anyone have any suggestions other than "crane your neck back and screw your good wingsuit body position up." ? tIt's the year of the Pig.
mccordia 74 #2 June 14, 2004 I've been thinking how it would be nice to put your camera (on a topmount) side-ways (layed down) As most video you shoot while BM-ing along-side someone is usualy tilted about 90 degrees...anyone ever try this?JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? dragon2 2 #3 June 14, 2004 I was thinking the same thing, but since I have a largish TRV camera I think it'll stick out a bit. I don't want my risers to hit my camera on opening... Maybe a 45o angle? Filming from behind & to the side? ciel bleu, Saskia
piisfish 140 #4 June 14, 2004 i did a few funny tries with the camera on a top mount, facing backwards, and with a fisheye... you can see the arms, rig and legs, and a passenger everytime you have one... Plus the whole deployment sequence is really nice to see. Just have to check it with my new Black Eye lense...scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
VectorBoy 0 #5 June 14, 2004 You end up with a lot of shots of the backs of flyers unless you learn to backfly the exits and some shots thru the dive.
