dragon2 2 #1 June 14, 2004 I want to make a dvd of a bunch of diferent videoclips. I have no clue how to go about that... Which programs do I use? I want a nice menu, with a clicky per clip and one for the entire dvd. And I want some nice credits. Also there should be some documents on the dvd, not sure if those should be html or something else. Right now I only make svcd's. For these I use premiere pro, photoshop cs and nero burning rom 6. I've also got studio 8 and hollywood fx 4.6. Any tips? ciel bleu, Saskia

CaTo 0 #6 June 15, 2004 Hi saskia, I am using DVDlab which I found on the internet http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/ It is just authoring software, so especially for making menu's etc. It's the only SW I found so far that is doing what I want, and can also handle text-only menu structures (so in stead of using a screengrab all the time) I like it so much I even sponsered the maker I use TMPGEnc to encode, from Pegasys, (freeware version via http://www.pegasys-inc.com/e_main.html) And of course Nero to writeCaren
Chrisky 0 #7 June 15, 2004 Hi there, i did a DVD for the first belgian freefly festival "Headdown over Spa" last year, got into all the fancy pancy stuff with stand-in videos instead of screenshots for scene selection etc... I was working with DVD Maestro, a program that is no longer commercially available on the PC thanks to Apple buying the company. Anyway, there are ways to get it off the net. I found Doom9.org to be an awesome resource for all encoding/authoring related questions. Go to the GUIDES-> DVD/miniDVD-> DVD authoring section and you will get pretty much all the info you need. It covers a wide range of encoders and authoring programs, not all, but the basic principles apply to all. HTH! Happy authoring! PS: I fuond the biggest fuzz was to get the audio DVD-compliant...The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... jmfreefly 0 #9 June 15, 2004 ReelDVD. Not very user friendly, but powerful enough. Did our 2003 Year In Review video with it. j
docjohn 0 #10 June 16, 2004 What you're looking for is a DVD authoring program. Sonic MyDVD does a quick and dirty job and comes free with many DVD burners. You can download ULEAD or buy the full version for $39. Lots more features than Sonic MyDVD but still very user friendly. Whatever you use, you're going to have to climb the learning curve.
