Now ya don't see this every day!!

Recommended Posts

This is a pic I took Sun. afternoon in Tullahoma, TN

In the background is four jets of some sort.(although they are hard to see due to file size restrictions here) I noticed them right after we left the plane and got it on vid and with my Dig Rebel(source of this pic). I don't know where they came from nor where they were going and no one else saw them other than a few folks on the ground.(including our pilot)

I was wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this and if so where.

I thought it was totally awesome!!

Later,
Jason

I was briefly (too briefly! :() dating a Royal Air Force air traffic controller, and she told me a story about tracking the RAF Red Arrows (aerobatics team) straight over a DZ while a DZ plane was in the air...

They are a bit arrogant apparently and completely ignored the Air Traffic Controllers comments to get out of that airspace.

Makes you think...:o

"They were pretty close though. I guessed about 1-1.5 miles out."

They also look as if they are above your exit point by a couple of grand.

Ever been to Deland? Or Dallas for that matter..?

civilian airplanes, but nevertheless I've seen some nasty footage of skydivers tracking into the take off pattern after break off...

In Dallas you can once in a while see air liners below you as you exit...

Oh! And two years ago, on my home DZ i norway:
We had an F-16 _directly_ over our pit in app. 1500' (yup thats right; fifteen HUNDRED not thousand!) Why do I know the exact altitude? Well, because one of our static-line students could see the whole thing from the air...

Military arrogance..? Seen that...

In my home DZ (also in Norway) two F16 passed right over the DZ. I belive it was last summer...and there where two students in the air at about 1000 feet...and the planes passed below them.....

The students didn't see the planes, but we that where on the ground did....an off course no one got it on camera:(

The mililtary took it seriosly though...so now the give us a call before passing the DZ (at least almos every time the pass throug....)

You're right. I towed gliders that day. Just seconds after I landed on the runway the F-16s passed 50-100 feet above me at 300+kts (my estimate). I hope they had my plane in view. But what were they thinking? It's uncontrolled airpspace, but I would call that reckless flying.
