paddyFrenchman 0 #1 July 8, 2004 Just wondering if anybody was flying without a lens using the Sony PC style cameras ? Paddy. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
wlie 0 #2 July 8, 2004 You mean a wide-angle? In that case, yes and just once - the video was very shaky. My other ride is the relative wind.
diverds 0 #3 July 8, 2004 I've done it in certain situations to either change the perspective or if I need to stay further away from the subject. I have not experienced the problems with camera shake the above poster mentioned, but I am very carful to keep my head as steady as I can. Brains 2 #4 July 8, 2004 If i am not mistaken, i believe Greg Gasson said he doesn't like the look of a wide-angle lens so he doesn't use one. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
pcalandra 0 #5 July 9, 2004 I haven't used a wide angle lens yet this season, I mostly do tandems and like the perspective better without it, however it's tough for 4 way extis especially when you don't do a lot of 4 way. Pat

paddyFrenchman 0 #7 July 9, 2004 what about freeflying ? is that any good ? i suppose it all depends how far/close you get from what you are filming... "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
DaGimp 0 #8 July 9, 2004 any type of flying you do or any type of lens you have....its all about knowing your equpiment. If you intend on flying in the formation then a wider lens would be the kind you want. If you are just filming it and dont intend to participate then it all maters on how comfortable you are....if you want to be further away then a not so wide lens would be better.....if you want to fly close then a wider lens will work."Professor of Pimpology"~~~Bolas
falxori 0 #9 July 14, 2004 i dont not yet anyway... i'm usually not that close to who i'm filming (just started not long ago) i'll get one when i have some spare cash... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
