Jethers203 0 #1 July 16, 2004 How close should the site be to your eye??? I just top mounted my pc-105 onto my Optik and got a site extender as well as a site. I was just curious as to how far from the eye the site should be. Thanks for all the help. Clint
quade 4 #2 July 17, 2004 While there are no absolute rules, consider placing the ring sight so that its edges will be at roughly the edges of your frame. That might be top to bottom or side to side, whatever feels best to you, but it gives you some additional information about framing your shot. You'll know if the formation is roughly filling the edges of the ring, you probably are just about the right distance from the formation. Make sense?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
ltdiver 3 #3 July 17, 2004 Wanting to keep things as close as possible to minimize any snag points....my ring site is a finger width away from my goggle lens. Works great for me. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
Jethers203 0 #4 July 18, 2004 Ok, that information is helpful. Thanks. Now, what about when I'm filming something far away? Today after landing, I was filming another jumper land and I was aiming to low. He was about 50 ft away and I didn't even have his canopy in frame. The site is dead on when I am filming, but at further distances it is off. Any help would be appreciated. Clint

Clint The problem you're running in to is caused by the position difference between your eye and the camera.
