Alo1 0 #1 July 20, 2004 I've just recently purchased a 550 ex for my 300 D, I've got maybe 15 jumps with the flash mounted. Today in the camera room I fired off a test shot as per usual. The flash went POP and that was it. I'm taking it in for repairs this week but am wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem. The unit is less than a month old. I've been using nimh batteries as per the manual. All other functions work but the flash...I'd guess I blew the bulb but ..damn.....it's totally new. anyhoo, let me know if anyone else has had issues and I can maybe question the Canon techie.
