flyhy 0 #1 April 9, 2003 Two different ways of packing the canopy after lying down on the ground to get it in the right shape for bag: 1.: conventional way of tucking sides under the canopy 2.: folding the sides over on top of canopy Is there any difference for the opening? Someone told me that #1 can cause lineovers because the steering lines get out of place whereas in #2 they stay tidy ontop of canopy.
lauril 0 #2 April 9, 2003 #1 is called wolmari pack, and yes it lowers the risk to have line overs, and it's a lot easier to bag than a normal pro-pack because you get a better grip from tha canopy when folding...And it opens just like the normal pro-pack... A friend of mine tried combining wolmari with psycho pack, folding sides over, and then rolling, I don't encourage you to do that, but he has packed like that since...very very easy to bag... You're not supposed to be tucking the bulk of the canopy when you're doing a normal propack. You're tucking the top skin, keeping everything in place within the packjob. If you pack correctly, then it shouldn't be a problem.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Nutz 0 #6 April 14, 2003 The only way that I pack is Phsyco. (I don't know about the spelling.) I have tried PRO packing but my canopy is too new for me to be able to pack that way. I have only had one mal in 140 jumps packing this way. Of course - I only have about 160 jumps total but I have had some real bad openings on canopies that were PRO packed. Some by me, some by others and on different canopies. My first main I finally got rid of because I could not get it to open softly. My new one has ALWAYS opened soft. So it may not be your packing.
