riggerrob 643 #1 July 29, 2004 Don't leave your cameras laying around in the airplane. Last Saturday our senior videographer learned a very expensive lesson about leaving cameras laying around in the airplane. Before boarding he set his still camera in the rear cabin of our King Air. Since no-one is allowed to sit there (aft of the door), he thought it would be safe. Unfortunately, two freeflyers decided to sit aft of the benches (frowned upon for weight and balance reasons). When one of them stepped on the still camera, he broke an expensive lens. The guilty party was kind enough to offer to pay 2/3 of the cost of a new lens, but the photographer was without a tool on a busy day. To prevent this sort of accident, I always keep my camera strapped to my hand or resting in my helmet. l am especially careful to keep it in my hand while people are boarding or moving around in the airplane. Even if they don't damage camera, they can still accidentally reset switches to "artistic" settings. Hee! Hee! Keep a grip on your shit!
Rdutch 0 #2 July 29, 2004 The hardest part about shooting 4way video is keeping your camera safe from the point turners. No matter what you do with it, they will manage to step on it, even if its on your head! Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
