jose 0 #1 August 6, 2004 Has anyone any idea if I can use a firewire hub to allow other users (3-4) to copy the jump at the same time? The hubs I have found on the net describe it as only 1 port being downstream and all the others upstream. Can this be used in the other direction? I.E. My camera in the single port that usually goes to the computer and the others going to recording cameras (usually from periperals). And finally, is there a 4 pin only hub anywhere. I can only find the 6 pin hubs.
AggieDave 6 #2 August 7, 2004 Why can't you use 6 pin to 4 pin cables with it to adapt the products available? Also, I don't see a reason why it *wouldn't* work, but I can't say that it will work.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." jose 0 #3 August 7, 2004 Yeah, that is what I was planning to do. The only problem is that I dont know if the signal will go the opposite direction for which it was designed. The products are stream oriented. Is there some kind of circuitry inside the hubs? Or is it just acting like a splitter.
dragon2 2 #4 August 7, 2004 Ask Henny (Parashoot here). We tried something like that for the world record in Thailand. Didn't work on-site unfortunately but at our own DZ we got it to work. ciel bleu, Saskia
