Ducky 0 #3 August 10, 2004 I plan only to jump camera for my own use.. No plans of videography work. Just vids to trade w/ buds for their vids of me. Besides i have always been a bit interested in photography from my Hockey and newspaper days. kwakSometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield. YahooLV 0 #4 August 10, 2004 I'd say the next thing you need to do is...learn how to use it! Lots of capabilities...have fun!http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
nacmacfeegle 0 #5 August 10, 2004 They are going to tell you to get a little more experience before strapping the snagger onto the noggin. Chaos does not respect the purpose of the filming, merely the opportunity to catch you out. Lecture over. Learning how to edit all that footage will be useful, so mastering software such as Premiere, Photoshop (for cool graphics, titles, etc). Mastering the particular camera and its settings on the ground will help, as will gaining an appreciation of stills work. Watch lots of other folks' video or study their stills. This will help you visualise the shots you want and how to capture them.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Ducky 0 #6 August 11, 2004 Yes exeperience/ more jumps would be helpful. I suppose i could upate my profile as it should read a few more jumps than it does. But then again I guess if i wanted that lecture my thread would have had a different title I can understand the need to recognize a good and bad shot angle etc. I have photographed over 200 NHL hockey games and timing is everything, trying to be in the right place a second early as if ESP sent yo there really helps.Sometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield. That's actually the part we care about the least because we expect you to kinda suck when you start. The reason we would like you to have more jumps before jumping camera is because, while you may be an expert photographer, at this point it does not appear as if you could possibly be an expert skydiver. Now, maybe you are, but just based on jump numbers, it sure doesn't look like it and it doesn't match up with the recommendations for beginning camera flying by the USPA.
