apdicenzo 0 #1 August 21, 2004 i needed a step up ring for my kenko.5x wide angle, went to bestbuy but couldnt buy just the stepup ring,so i bought a cokin wide angle .5x with four different size step up rings included. my question is which is a better brand kenko or cokin. also my kenko has the UV filter on the front of the wide angle lens and the conkin has the UV filter on the back of the wide angle(between the cam and wide angle ) does this matter Thanks
Rdutch 0 #2 August 22, 2004 Main difference between the filter in the back as oposed to the front, is your filter helps block scratches and dings. Its a lot cheaper to replace the filter than the lens. As far as lens quality, you get what you pay for. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of! I've found the Sony .6 to be of far greater value than my Kenko .5 Cheaper, less distortion, and a strangely wider field of view. To me, as far as lens quality, it's far more important to keep them in good shape than spending extra for a presumed higher quality. The Sony is also cheap enough to be easily replacable. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
