rylord 0 #1 September 7, 2004 Just wondering to see what you all use, or think is the best solution for lens fog? I searched the forums and found a few posts referring to Catcrap by GlassSafe, and a few others that use Rain-X. Thanks Rylord Kentucky Skydiving Center
StevePhelps 0 #2 September 7, 2004 I use catcrap, but nothing is too effective in Okie-homa. ANybody else find anything that works consistently in high humidity states?
LouDiamond 1 #3 September 7, 2004 I use Cat crap as well to eliminate the foggy build up. After using Rain -X on my car I decided I didn't want to use it on my lens."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
jdhill 0 #4 September 7, 2004 I use Catcrap here in Houston... very humid environment... it may not prevent fog completely, but it generally works until deployment alt. On really humid days, or for important jumps, I reapply it on every jump. Cat crap works well for freefall, but my canopy ride is usually fogged up no matter what I use. Then I simply wipe the lens off with a cleaning cloth I keep in my pocket when I land so I can tape the AFF and tandem's landings. I also reapply every trip up. DALAILAMA 0 #6 September 8, 2004 The best thing I have found to use is some stuff called ZOOK I got it in Sturgis last year and it is the sheewahtay! Unfortunately I have not been able to find it anymore and someone felt the need to liberate it from the clutches of my tyranny!"Dropzone.com, where uneducated people measuring penises, has become an art form"

Carry Cat-Crap but have only had to use it on the inside of my goggles. Humidity is quite low here.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
speedy 0 #8 September 8, 2004 1st you must find out what sort of fogging is taking place. Is it on the outside of the wide angle lense or on the inside? Sony 0.6 wide angle lenses tend to fog on the inside, creating a white fogged spot in the middle of the picture. If this is your problem the the solution is here http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1076975;#1076975. If this is not your problem then maybe the cat stuff will help.
