Deuce 1 #1 October 7, 2004 I saw a lot of really cool helmet setups at Nationals. One that probably was almost half of the camera fliers there was a sidemount with a second video camera on top, where I would guess lots of these folks usually put their stills camera for shooting tandems. Two video cameras is a very good idea. I did manage to turn one of them off during a climbout, and my B camera was there to save the day. I'm also going to get a bootie camera suit. Since there are days when I wear my suit all day, I don't generally like to hassle booties, which I have on my fast and slow RW suits, and I wear on all of my release AFF jumps. My team was light and falls slower than my usual group, and booties would have been a big help. Yes, I saw some guys wearing FF suits. If they shot clean through all 10 rounds, more power to them! So here is my helmet. A Bonehead Flat Top Pro with Stroboframe QR's and two Cameye's. The third light in the ringsight is a visual Timeout. The side protection is two Bonehead Sharkfins. Zee 0 #2 October 7, 2004 Hey Deuce, Nice set-up. Where did ya get the visual Timeout? Action©Sports
Deuce 1 #3 October 7, 2004 Greg Gasson has one. At one of the seminars at last year's DZ.Com Holiday Boogie he showed the stuff he carries in and on his helmet and the visual TimeOut was one. I try not to reinvent the wheel and I copy stuff that successful people do. I told AvgJoe about what I had learned at the Boogie and a couple weeks later he gave me his LED which he had kept when he sold his TimeOut. So I traded GravityGirl my Pro Dytter for her older Timeout with the connection for the LED. I really like it. Now I am more like Greg. Yeah, it's a vintage product and getting harder and harder to find.
sheldond 0 #4 October 7, 2004 Can you perhaps post a pic of the Plug that the Timeout uses to connect to the LED cable? I am trying to find a cable, but no one has one for sale, so I want to build one. I don't really want to go to the trouble of ripping open the Timeout, removing the Brass attachment and then solder in a couple wires for the connection. Maybe I can get the connector at Radioshack or something, if I know what I should be looking for. I've already ran a test, and all you need is 2 wires and an LED. Simple thing to make. Deuce 1 #5 October 7, 2004 Yes. This is why they call me "The Giver". I love to give.
Zee 0 #6 October 7, 2004 Oh yeah! I used to have a Timeout - it went in along with my other FTP - it's in a swamp somewhere near FM-20 in Texas I remember there was a plug in for the LED but I never found one to try. Then again, I already have a Sunnto Observer, a regular altimeter, and a Pro-Track with the 3 warnings set - Guess if I can't figure out it's time to pull I'm shit out of luck anyway Still looks like a pretty cool toyThanks for the info, Z Action©Sports
spidermonky 0 #7 October 7, 2004 Are you using two different wide angle lenses on the sonys?
Deuce 1 #8 October 7, 2004 QuoteAre you using two different wide angle lenses on the sonys? Yeah, a Diamond .5 and a Diamond .3 http://www.royal-lens.com/ In the case where maybe I would miss grips on first point exit, the .3 might pick them up when the .5 might cut them off. The only time I used the .3 footage was when my .5 got turned off during an exit.[/url] RayDutch uses nothing but a .
