vdschoor 0 #26 October 27, 2004 QuoteI shoot digital for all non-tandems I do, and shoot film for tandems. Moreso than changing film, I'm constantly changing cameras. A quick release is critical - not to the technical aspect of bolding on your camera, but to your sanity... _Am I agree here.. The only camera mounted without a quick release on my helmet is my video camera.. for some reason the keep making those bottom loaded.. (at least the affordable ones) and it's a pain getting the plate off every time.. Iwan

blazetailman 0 #28 October 28, 2004 I don't use a quick release for any cameras. Especially the film. I need to keep the cameras as low profile as possible and liked saving the money. I use a trv 27 with a kenko .42 wide angle and had to move the video farther forward with the D60 and sigma 15 which sticks out farther than my film with a 24 mm. The lens was in the video frame. So a quick release would add height to the camera and I would have to move the video even farther forward. I can switch between digital or film stills quite easy. I have bite switches for both stored in the helemt and just swap with thumb screws. I need to take the film camera off between jumps but the digital could stay on all day. I can access the cf card and batteries without takeing the camera off. Quick realeases are nice if they make things easier for ya. but thats like 2 tickets. Use the money trying and practicing taking pics....... ps.. Jim do you recognize the video camera in the picture to the left..<----------www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com

jcd11235 0 #30 December 2, 2004 I mounted all the ringsight hardware internally on my FTN. I think I'll be doing it to a FTP soon. There is only about half inch of stem exposed, plus the sight.Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
jcd11235 0 #31 December 2, 2004 I have my sight mounted internally, and have plenty of clearance between goggle and sight. Someone with a significantly larger head might not have as good luck with it, though.Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
