riggerrob 643 #3 April 15, 2003 Has anyone heard how many hoops a pompous master rigger has to jump through to get MPAAD's blessing to sew AADs into an old rig?

BlindBrick 0 #5 April 18, 2003 the following is the reply I got from MARS when I enquired about the MPAAD. Quote Dear John, my name is Zbynek and testing and custom service relevant to the MPAAD is my responsibility, so I will deal with all your questions in the future. Thank you very much for your interest in our new product - MPAAD. Please, let me explain the near future plans of our new AAD to you. Firstly, our patent representatives and lawyers are working on the global retrievals and patents. Unfortunately, those proceedings are very protracted, so it will take more time than we expected. It is the reason, why we can not release our device to the world market presently. The reason for all this verification is information from Airtech, that we cann´t sale our product at the US market until their patent is valid. At this moment, we had completed all the most important tests and the device is working perfectly. Nevertheless, we have to do more test jumps to obtain other major data for statistics. We also want to try out a safety of the MPAAD with substandard skydiving equipment, e.g. birdman suit. The biggest disadvantage is the weather in Czech Republic, which do not allow us to do as many jumps as we need. For this reason, we have a few units in Spain and we will have more information after April 15, 2003. Fully functional version of MPAAD we can provide during May or June. Finally, we would like to thank you once more for your interest in our device. Unfortunately, we can not provide you with more information at this moment, but we are open to any suggestions. Do you have our MPAAD information leaflet from PIA Symposium? If not, we´ll send you more operation data of the device. With best regards, Zbynek Zivny, MarS a.s. Hope that helps, -Blind"If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."
