diverds 0 #2 November 19, 2004 Sounds distracting to me. Don't think I'd allow it for one of my passengers. Skydive Radio

PhreeZone 20 #4 November 19, 2004 MTV and Troy Hartman did something similar to this at one of their spring breaks a while ago. It worked, but the girl was so out of it that I'm amazed it did. She had to put her arm way low straight out to hold the camera properly. Her body position was horrible and she actually listened and did'nt put her arms out and off her harness till she was told to. Couple an over anxious student that puts the camera out as soon as they get in the door and one that more worried about holding the camera for a good video then holding a body position that would'nt even qualify for a poor rating and you've got side spin wrote all over it.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
clint 1 #5 November 19, 2004 I agree, it would be dangerous on exit. also on landing You could offer it like $30 for them. $50 if the Inst does it? What is the going rate for handycam video? -Clint MacBeth Skydive Moab 435 259 JUMP M.O.A.B. Mother Of All Boogies Sept 19 - 23, 2012
riggerrob 643 #6 November 19, 2004 The going rate for handy-cam is CAN$55 vs. $90 for outside video. The videographer/TI collects $45 no matter which angle he films it from. Note, if he does not dub the video, he only pockets $35. No-one has asked me to sew a handy-cam to be worn by the student. I do not trust students with my $1800 tool, er. camera. Most students are far too freaked out for the first few seconds to remember to breath, much less point a camera! I often allow tandem students to bring small point-and-shoot cameras to take pictures from the airplane or after opening, but insist that all cameras be stuffed deep inside jumpsuits before exit. On a personal note: Clint, the sooner I know how big your hand is and how big your camera is, the sooner I can start sewing.

linestretch 0 #9 November 20, 2004 I wore a handy on the front when helping a coworker get crosstrained. If you could get the student to hold it in front of them, man, the vid is awesome. Mine was bitchen, but I had a clue as what to do on exit, and where to film.my pics & stuff!
