skydivebaz 0 #1 November 27, 2004 i am looking for a new Dv to put on my new FTP as i want to keep my pc8 for my sidemount and was looking at this DCR-HC1000, anyone using it? Secondly i now have a 20D to go on there and was looking at the flash threads and am now thinking speedlight 580 any thoughts?
piisfish 140 #2 November 28, 2004 I'm not using the DCR HC1000 YET... But I'd love to... Played with it in the shop, and I wish I could have run away with it. Image quality will be nice... But the thread for objectives as far as I can remember is very wide. If it's 37mm, no problem, enough angles available. Wider ? AndyAnderson 0 #4 February 20, 2005 Chris at Z Hills got a DCR HC1000 and is not happy with it as it cannot handle the burble especially headdown. I think it is another case of the 3 chips fighting with each other- harmonics etc

I think it is another case of the 3 chips fighting with each other- harmonics etc I've heard this with other 3-chip cameras as well. Craig O'Brien at Perris did an experiment with them and wasn't happy at all with the vibration. He went back to his 1-chip camera. This was a couple of years ago. Don't know if he's found anything work-able yet. I'll have to ask him next weekend (if it's not frikin raining!). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
Cookie 0 #6 February 20, 2005 Very interesting to hear this about the 3 chip camera's. Do you think that this will be the case with the new Sony PC1000 3 chip model coming out in April?? I know of a guy in Austria who say he will be getting a PC1000 in a few weeks. Are these camera's available in the states yet?? Cookie
 lewmonst 0 #7 February 20, 2005 Yeah, we've known this about other 3-chips for a while. I was hoping someone would jump the newer line and see if it had improved. I don't foresee any reason for Sony to improve upon it though, because it's very rare that those cameras are taken in our environment anyway... So I don't have my hopes up for the PC1000 either. But it will take someone to jump it and let us know for sure... Who wants to anti-up? Especially with freeflying. As for if the camera will be available in the U.S. I haven't researched for it, but check on the Sony web page. I'm sure the answer will be there. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
 ltdiver 3 #9 February 21, 2005 QuoteHey Lori, We got six and a half loads up today. Yeah, and probably all before I woke up this morning, huh. I took a gander at PerrisCam but didn't see much activity. WeatherUnderGround also painted a dismal picture. Guess I'll have to consol myself in that my taxes are prepped and my house in clean. Oh...yeah....the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies were yummy, too... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
 Snowflake 0 #10 February 21, 2005 I thought the issue was that the lower end 3 chip models had a floating lense that vibrated in freefall
 ltdiver 3 #11 February 21, 2005 QuoteI thought the issue was that the lower end 3 chip models had a floating lense that vibrated in freefall Negative. You'll notice Cajones goes into detail about a different issue he feels is due to the "floating iris" in the same thread. Also there was a thread where a someone took apart the lens and tried to fix that problem to no avail (I can't find the thread though)
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
