whatever 0 #1 November 28, 2004 anyone have any info on the following: 1 - availability and prices of PC105 and PC105E cameras? (I believe these will all be used, no one should still have new ones.) 2 - availability and prices of PC330 and PC330E cameras? (mostly used, but new if you could find any) I have a PC105 I'm considering selling (but likely keeping) and I'm considering getting a used PC330. thanks soon to be gone
bigway 4 #2 November 29, 2004 well brand new 105 e in the uk are 600-800 pounds depending where you buy. there are plenty new out there. There are no new pc 330 but there was one in the classifieds the other day it was a pc 330e. i have got 2 105e's and value them around the 400-500 pound mark, one of them has not been jumped. Everyone seems to be trying to find new 330's. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
nacmacfeegle 0 #3 November 29, 2004 Sony Cameras with an E on the end of them are deisgned for use in Eurpean countries, we have a different TV standard over here (PAL here, NTSC over there), unless you have European (PAL) VCRs, edit gear etc, you are likely to have heartaches.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. nacmacfeegle 0 #5 November 29, 2004 Yes, I know, sorry for any confusion, my bad.Another snag to the E series camcorders, is that some may be neutered IE without analogue, or DV-in. Its to keep the prices ostensibly down as those with inputs (acting as a portable VCR) attract a different import duty under EU rules. Mostly resolved these days though. EG, my old PC7 had to be hacked to allow it to take DV inputs.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. whatever 0 #6 November 29, 2004 Nac, thanks for the heads-up, but I knew that, being from South Africa (PAL) originally. I have a NTSC PC 105, and I've done NTSC-PAL firewires before, so I really wouldn't mind having a PAL camera, even though I now live in a NeverTheSameColour country - one of each will be useful, plus there's always editing software to convert PAL-NTSC if I need to. soon to be gone
