kansasskydiver 0 #1 December 2, 2004 Ok I can't find this answer anywhere online. Probably just searching for the wrong stuff, but, I have a video of a 4way speed star from 4k and wanted to instert a running timer of how long it took to get the last grip. Using Adobe Premiere Pro but at this point, I'll use anything to figure it out. Any ideas anyone?<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!

BETO74 0 #3 December 2, 2004 I use Final Cut or you can buy this plug in for Imovie it makes it so much simpler. http://www.geethree.com/DEMOSET.html http://www.geethree.com Let me knowhttp://web.mac.com/ac057a/iWeb/AC057A/H0M3.html

quade 4 #6 December 2, 2004 Holy crap that seems complicated. kansasskydiver 0 #7 December 2, 2004 Yeah I looked at that too... There has got to be a simple way, just a plugin or something somewhere. There is for the mac and imovie so there HAS to be something for Adobe. The problem is that the "stopwatch" when you search, shows up in referrence to all the keyframes and such. Somewhere out there, someone has to know of a plugin or something. It can't be that I'm gonna have to create 60 layers in Photoshop to do so. Is there a way to display the timecode off the DV tape onto the video?<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!
quade 4 #8 December 2, 2004 Get your 35 second countdown clock key element HERE while it lasts! You -will- have to key this over a background for it to look right, but just look up the words "key" and "alpha" in your NLE help files and everything ought to make sense. The file is about 33 meg, so . . . there ya go.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
kansasskydiver 0 #9 December 2, 2004 I'm downloading it now. Thanks a lot :)<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!
kansasskydiver 0 #10 December 2, 2004 I'm converting it to a .avi file right now then once in Premiere I'll put it at -100%play to use it as a counter. I think I'm just running into all kinds of problmes today. Couldn't find the Quicktime plugin for Premiere Pro<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist! quade 4 #11 December 2, 2004 It probably won't work right as a .avi file because if I'm not mistaken, .avis don't have alpha channels. You can download Quicktime here . . . http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
skydog 2 #12 December 2, 2004 Sorry to hijack this thread, but...... Does anyone have an .avi of an altimeter counting down? Want to use one in a demo video. I tried to do one in stop motion but it looks all jerky and generally shit. Any help would be good. Thanks BrynJourney not destination.....
cvfd1399 0 #13 December 2, 2004 Why not capture it while your camera outputs the time. Mine does it. It has the option to only show it on the camera screen, or to send it along with the video.

You can download Quicktime here . . . http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ Yeah I have quicktime but I can't import the file into Premiere, it's not a supported media type. I used Rad Video tools to convert it to an .avi file and then used the Key and Alpha effects to take care of the white background. I really appreciate it The running time from exit to last point of the speed star was 16:28seconds. Yes slow I know, cause we suck... The catch is, we exited from around 3-3.5k<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!

pope 0 #17 December 3, 2004 Quote and then used the Key and Alpha effects to take care of the white background. You can always also just crop the overlay image to just off the numbers--tends to be a bit more readable as well...IMHO pope
quade 4 #18 December 3, 2004 I altered the file and reuploaded it so it's -just- the numbers without the drop shadow and alpha channel. (Takes up less space). If people want they can just luma key them in and add the drop shadows themselves.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
