Rdutch 0 #1 December 3, 2004 Ok Im trying to put a few DVD's on one dvd as well as some videos from mini DV and some files. The Files and mini Dv are easy but the DVD is becoming a bit complicated. I have Roxio, Pinnicle, and Adobe encore. Pinnacle will change the dvd to a file but when I try and use that file with any program it errors. Also if I convert the dvd to Divx it only works when playing it. So who has any idea how to take a DVD and make it where I can save it as a usable format for Premeire, Roxio, Pinnacle ect. I know the easy way is to play the DVD to my Camcorder but I want to know the best way. Oh yeah Thanks to anyone that can help. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of! silvere 0 #3 December 7, 2004 not sure exactly what you're wanting to do, but when I rip or reauthor dvds I use dvd shrink http://www.dvdshrink.org/what.html to rip the files to my computer. it turns (compresses) the dvd files into vob files and I use nero to burn them to the new dvd. if you want the files to be in a different format let me know and I'll find a way for you to do it. take care, Andy

silvere 0 #5 December 7, 2004 StefB is right about the dvd2avi program. I dug this up on google groups: http://groups-beta.google.com/group/rec.video.desktop/browse_thread/thread/46f6aa8c4629f6fb/a981df9b453a2c01?q=dvd+to+avi&_done=%2Fgroups%3Fq%3Ddvd+to+avi%26&_doneTitle=Back+to+Search&&d#a981df9b453a2c01 I'd use the HuffYUV codec, which you will probably have to download: http://www.digitalfaq.com/capture/atiavi/atiavi.htm under 4). one of the best sources that I know of for video editing is: http://www.digitalfaq.com/ if you need any further help let me know, I'll be glad to help.
