Samb 0 #1 December 6, 2004 Some pro's and con's will realy help on this? I am jumping a Side Winder from Sky systems(very nice helmet) and need to upgrade to acomodate a stills camera.
TALONSKY 0 #2 December 6, 2004 Pros to the flat top pro are that it can accommodate nearly any kind of still and video setup. I think it is a great product and very versatile. The only con is the cost. I can say that going from a sidewinder to a Flat Top Pro is a quite the step (although I do not know I would want to do any other step). I have flown a sidewinder for over 100 jumps now and love it. I just switched to a Flat Top Pro and my first few jump I definitely felt the difference. I am by no means a expert on this subject, I have only a handfull of jumps on my Flat Top Pro but I had to make the same decision on what to get. koz2000 1 #3 December 7, 2004 I've got an Illusion w/ a 10D mounted to the top w/ a Goldmember mount. I've had no problems with that setup. The hinge jaw is VERY secure. If you're looking to add multiple cameras (eg: two video + still or two still +video) or you want to have a flash system for a common use, get the FTP. I've put a flash a couple times on my Illusion, but would have been better served w/ the FTP.______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. SkymonkeyONE 4 #5 December 9, 2004 I would say that it just depends on what you plan to wear on your head. If you are jumping a PC-series camera and want space for a big 10-D (minus extra flash) then an Illusion is fine. It's cheaper, MUCH smaller and tidier, lighter, and far more stylish in my opinion. I love mine. I have never been a fan of the flat-top series, particularly the PRO. If I had to have one, it would be the narrow version though.
