AggieDave 6 #4 December 7, 2004 Quote Is it possible to get a still camera top mounted on an hawkeye if I jump from a cessna ??? If Aggieland's vidiots jump with top mounted stills and video on their Flattops out of our narrow body 182, I don't see why it would be a problem for you with a hawkeye.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." StevePhelps 0 #8 December 7, 2004 I do 95% of my video jumps out of C-182. See my avatar for my set up. No problems. Initially I bumped the camera once or twice. After that I put gaffers tape across the top to protect the finish and learned how low to duck.
martz 0 #9 December 8, 2004 pope I asked the question because of the heigh in a cessna ... I wasn't sur if I need a Z bracket, so i'll mount the still directly on the top thanks=============================== Ourson # 5 impatient de sauter #

Shyandinnocent 0 #11 December 13, 2004 i have 100s of jumps from a 182 with a top mount stillscamera. In my opinion, that's the only place you'll want it... It's never too late for a low turn!
martz 0 #12 December 13, 2004 I saw somes setup with the still on the front with a bracket .. what so you think about it ???=============================== Ourson # 5 impatient de sauter #
Shyandinnocent 0 #13 May 9, 2005 Two of the photographers on our DZ have their stills mounted on a bracket, so that the camera 'hangs' down in front of their forhead. I think this desing is a REALLY good way to snag lines or have riser hang ups in the event of wild openings. In light of the fatalities in recent years, where camerapeople have cut away mains snagged on their helmets and not released their helmets, I would not recommend this setup to anyone. Hope that answers your question! Peace and Love IM It's never too late for a low turn!
