ifics 0 #2 December 20, 2004 Do a search for "Sony PC 101" I think you will find what you're looking for..
r2hubert 0 #3 December 20, 2004 Very weak camera if you compare it to the old version PC9. Had only problems with it... touch screen broke... then lanc port.... May be I wasn't lucky... but do a search I'm not the only one. -- Renaud SMA #9 "Mind is like parachute. It only functions when it's open."
ematteo 0 #4 December 21, 2004 I love mine. Sony's series progression went something like this: PC5 - fine camera but crappy S battery PC9 - moved to M battery, much longer life PC101 - M battery, better resolution than PC9 PC105 - cheaper materials version of 101 (less robust) not sure what the more current ones are. ematteo 0 #5 December 21, 2004 But maybe think about getting a few more jumps before you strap that distraction onto your head. Any camera is a safety factor.
Samb 0 #6 December 23, 2004 Had my pc101 for 2 years, done 400 jumps with it, still going strong. Nice cam must say.
volo 0 #7 December 24, 2004 From my experience, Sony is the best way to go if you're a skydiver looking for video equipment. I've had several Sony PC style camcorders over 5 or so years and I've been using a PC-101 for a few years now. Knock on wood, all of my camcorders have never had a problem with them thus far. My PC-101 still to this day has never had a problem with it either. The 101 is my favorite of all of them to be honest with you. I don't like the new PC's with the fragile zoom button and cheaper feel (at least in my opinion). If I were shopping around again for another Sony PC camcorder, I'd search around for a PC-101 again. Wonderful camera!! Do take into consideration what was mentioned previously already. I'd concentrate on getting more jumps and experience before you start making purchases toward video gear. The more gear you fly with, the more complex the situation becomes. Of course this is my own opinion and everybody has a right to do what they want. It's just a safety thing to me. flr169 0 #8 December 24, 2004 My main concern with a camera now is for snowmobiling........and setting up a helmet cam.... As for skydiving I will make more jumps before I mount a camera to the side of my head.... I might try the helmet cam thing thou when skydiving if the instructor's from the summer think it is okay.... Thanks all and a Merry X-mas .... its presently -31 celcius and -42celcius with the wind cill................I need to go do all my shopping still ========================Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
