wildcard451 0 #1 January 4, 2005 So I am sitting here after Eloy , putting some video into the computer using the AV port right by the LANC port, and my dumb ass drops the camera and something in the port broke. little piece of black plastic is lodged in the camera port, and the cable looks fine. It still transmits video, but it is all garbled and shaky. Anyone know how to tell exactly what I messed up? Or an idea of what it will cost to have it fixed??? What a shitty start to come back to. freeflir29 0 #2 January 4, 2005 Oh NO!!!!!! I haven't personally had this happen but have known several people that did. LANC ports are a coming failure point on Sony cams. As far as I know if you send it back to Sony they will charge the standard $400+ and rebuild your camera for you. Not sure if it's practical to just get the LANC fixed. wildcard451 0 #3 January 4, 2005 Not the LANC port, the AV port beside it. It turns out that it only killed the S-Video output portion, and the composite output still works fine. This I can live with for a while just to throw up fast videos.
