2k composites FF@

Hey, I have a question about the FF2. If I order the FF2 for my Sony PC120 can I easily switch cameras say if my PC-120 breaks (since they do not make them anymore.) I just wanted to know how flexible this set-up is.

You'd have to get a similar "Large" camera like a PC 330, 350, etc.

Maybe, maybe not. That's one of the drawbacks to a camera specific helmet. I don't like them because of that.

no ram the guy there says the boxes are the same only the inside is different of the box to aacomodate the cam

i think you could easily order a new insert

i was ordering a ff2 for my sony hc40 and then said wait i may get a new cam and he said no problems we will send you the insert for it. so its a big box i complained that my little sony has to go in the pc 120 box at least out the side

The sony outlet center in Elsinore has a ton of refurbished PC120's. If you have the money, buying one as a back up wouldn't be a bad idea.

The Camera box on the side is one size
The foam insert is changed dependant on camera type.
The foam insert is simple....its similar to the 'ear pieces' that you can take out of a Pro Tec Helmet.....

Its easy to just add more, or take away foam as needed for your camera.
The Box looks big enough to accomodate most types of Sony PC style camcorders. A list of camera types supported is on 2K Composites web site.

The camera mount is the universal type ( ie fits the screw threads found on most camcorders)

The only thing I think you'd need to do is remount the L bracket inside it to fit the height of the new camera, and perhaps drill a new hole for teh screw.

I would really like to get one of these FF2 helmets ordered for spring time! I would like to help out a fellow skydiver representative by placing the order through them, however, no one has responded to my wanted classified. Does anyone out there know someone who would like to sell me a custom 2K FF2 helmet?

If you don't get a response just go ahead and email 2k directly. I took care of everything via email with them directly and they are great about answering any questions and prompt about returning emails.

Have about 45 jumps on my new FF2 and love it so far.

Last summer they were $999. I'd call them, maybe they'll quote you a better price.
At least they come with the normal Sony warranty...

Yeah, I was surprised by the price also. Like I said, I don't know if that's changed. At the time, it was the previous camera to the current 330. But now that it's two models old, you'd think it would be (much) cheaper. I don't know. Maybe I'll call them tomorrow.
