AggieDave 6 #5 January 18, 2005 Quote Or, give Photoshop Elements a look ...most of the functionality a fraction of the price of Photoshop. It is a fraction of the price, but I wouldn't say "most" of the functionality...you can do basic stuff with it, though. Its a lot better then using MSPaint, that's for sure.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
murrays 0 #6 January 18, 2005 Dave, It has a million times more functionality than I'll ever use, that's for sure. Here's a good review of Elements 3 from Digital Photography Review. They go into a good bit of detail on what you give up by using Elements and not PS in the Conclusion.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
quade 4 #7 January 18, 2005 Really depends on the type and quality of the graphics you need. Photoshop deals with bit map images. While these images can be photographic in nature, as you enlarge the images to huge building size proportions the individual pixels will be enlarged as well. If the image is to be viewed from very far away, this may still be appropriate. However, for the cleanest -text- and non-photographic logos, you'd probably want to design and deliver in Illustrator (aka .eps). How large of a banner and what is going to be on it is really the issue. When in doubt, hire an expert.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
