Camera shops near Perris/Elsinore

Recommended Posts

I have just got a 10D and am looking to get a lense for it.

I am thinking of a Tokina/Tamron or Sigma 19 - 35mm.

I will be in Elsinore from 25th Jan till 4th Feb and would like to take advantage of the exchange rate :-)

Are there any good camera shops in the area?? Quade, Lew any ideas??

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

This is a personal preference, but I think a lot of camera fliers will agree with this.
Go with a prime lens (fixed focal length)
If you're looking at the Tokina 19-35, maybe take a look at their 17mm fixed.
Also the 20mm Canon, 15mm Sigma, 14mm Sigma are all very good lenses.

One of my friends (Jim Gold) uses the Tokina and he is getting REALLY nice and sharp pictures with it.

As I said.. just a recommendation, but I find prime lenses a lot easier, and lighter overall.

Id love to go with a a fixed focal length, but I am bound by finances at the moment.

I have used the Tokina before and have found it to be a great lense, and am happy to go with it or something similar for the time being.

There used to be a SONY Outlet in a mall at the North end of Elsinore. Used to be able to buy returned, re-conditioned, last-year's models at considerable savings. Since they were sold by Sony, they still had warranties.
If the place is still open, a 20 minute drive might save you a few hundred dollars.

and you can still get a warranty from Ritz if you so desire.

Has anyone actually done this?

I asked at my local Ritz if they'd sell me a waranty for my digital rebel I bought elsewhere, and they said 'no'.

Yes, I have for several items. It might be per store, and up to the manager... I was told, by the manager at the Ritz in the promenade in Temecula, CA, specifically that as long as it was the same item they carry, they will still sell you a warranty on it even if you didn't buy it from them. They make a ton of money on those warranties, people rarely use them, it's like selling merchandise, so why not. The manager did say "I'm not supposed to advertise this...". But I've gotten a warranty on my 20D, a flash and a video camera, all that I hadn't bought from there.

Make sure you talk to a manager or something next time. A sales clerk might not know that, and I also think it might be a recent change in their policy.
