dtthorne 0 #1 January 26, 2005 I typically consider the extended warranty a ripoff and never get it, but skydiving with a camera is making me think twice. All advice welcome!
freefalle 0 #2 January 26, 2005 If its the extendend waranty from Ritz camera, GET IT. I can't recommend it enough. Shortly after I got my digital rebel the power supply went out, it was a 400.00 repair. it was free because of the extended warranty. Lets face it, our gear has many chances to get destroyed, I like the idea of bagging up the pieces and getting a new camera. My .
lewmonst 0 #3 January 26, 2005 Ditto on Ritz. Do a search on here about Ritz's ESP (Extended Service Plan). It's more than an extension of the manufacturer's warranty, it a warranty on any accidental damage ("except fire", but I even got a 10D replaced that was in a fire. There's a long old thread on that story...) Most other extended warranty only cover manufacturer's defects or problems like that. If it's dropped and broken, it's not likely covered unless you get the Ritz warranty. It is a pricy warranty though. And depending on your homeowner's or renter's insurance/deductible, it might be more cost effective to cover it that way. I'd go with Ritz though. But don't get it online, go into a store, and talk to the manager or someone who really knows what they're doing. peace lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
AndyMan 7 #4 January 26, 2005 I did the Mack Waranty... and regret it. Six week turnaround for a new motherboard on my Pc120. I would have gladly paid the standard Sony repair rate to get it back faster. Only do the Mack waranty if you can afford to go extended periods without the camera. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
garywainwright 0 #5 January 27, 2005 Make sure the extended warranty covers accidental damage - then if you break it you say you dropped it at a barbecue or something!http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
