flyingferret 0 #1 February 7, 2005 Guys, I searched and found nothing, so I am posting. My parents have a ton of 35 slides from yesteryear, and they are interested in restoring/transferring to DVD and are looking for a reputable place to do it. They asked me for advice, and I have none really. I thought someone here might have the answer handy. Thanks.-- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI. quade 4 #2 February 7, 2005 Tons? That's going to be expensive. Your best bet is to give them a good slide scanner ($400?) and let them do it themselves as a hobby.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
dragon2 2 #3 February 7, 2005 Kodak does photo cd's but that's not cheap! I'd take Quade's idea one step further: buy a decent scanner and get some kids to do it for them cheap It's a hassle, my dad quickly gave up on it as did I. What I'm doing now is sorting tons of slides for somebody else, and putting only the best ones on photo cd. He trusts me to pick the best ones ciel bleu, Saskia
flyingferret 0 #4 February 7, 2005 Well, not tons, I guess nore more than 6 slide reels. Not a bad idea, but honestly, my parents "Can't play cd anymore" when they accidentally unselect a surround mode on the receiver. I am not sure doing it on their own is an option. Right now my mom is looking at these guys http://www.slidescanning.com/services/select_slide_pricing.html? but I know nothing about them-- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
