brabzzz 0 #1 April 23, 2003 WOOOAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! My new rig appeared on my doorstep this morning - kind of made my day really! I went against the Wings/Infinity trend as I'm in the UK and this was the most affordable rig given my options. My choice was a Teardrop SF/Sabre2/Speed/Cypres. I probably won't get to jump it for a day or two, but initial impresions are great. 4 week build time, great fit, perfect colour match to jumpsuit, ziltch exposed bridal and really bombproof riser covers all the way up. Packing new ZP isn't something I'm looking forward to though!!! Pics enclosed! brabzzz 0 #5 April 23, 2003 Hmmm.....yes, that would be a F I R S T rig! I'm guaranteed not to be let off the beers given that it's a Uni skydiving club and all. Mind you, if any of you bump into me at some point, feel free to claim a beer! Samurai136 0 #7 April 24, 2003 Was the reserve shipped to you packed or did a local rigger pack it? It may be the camera angle/ lighting, but I'd take it to a rigger and have them tighten the quick loop on the reserve PC. It looks like I could get my fingers in under it past the 2nd knuckle. Very nice color/ design.Ken "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

BBKid 0 #9 April 24, 2003 Noice! But the question remains - if you're going for a Teardrop, why not get the Union Flag one on the website! I know that's what I'd order if I could afford it! Get yourself to Peterlee in June and let me have a look at that bad boy - I'll probably be in the market then (OK, I just want to fondle new rigs...) brabzzz 0 #10 April 24, 2003 Thanks for the nice comments guys - i'm kind of relieved that the colours (arguably the most important factor) weren't met with an urrggghhhh!!! The Union Jack would have been nice - though it might glash with the yellow grips on the jumpsuit! Enclosed is a close up of the side/poptop. I think the light was doing funny things when I took the first photos - as the yellow looked white at first, the sides looked blue/grey and the poptop looked like it had a massive gap under it. I can't really fit even a 1/4 of an inch of my little finger under the rim - the binding tape can be a bit away from the reserve in places but there is no 'gap' as such. I will get a rigger to look over it anyway though. The reserve was packed when shipped. My plan of jumping it soon has been shot to pieces though. The next 8 days are predicted to be rain, rain, rain... mikemc 0 #11 April 24, 2003 "4 week build" where did you get it from? I am looking for a rig and I am very impatient most places are 12 weeks.
brabzzz 0 #12 April 24, 2003 Directly from TSE - makers of the container. Reserve and AAD are ordered from stock and I picked a Sabre 2 i liked from PD's website stocklist - so that just took delivery time. I suppose it all comes down to choosing a container that can be made fast (Javelin ) and then picking a stock canopy. If you want custom PD canopy colours, bump it to 12 weeks! I believe Infinity's and Wings can be rushed at a similar speed. Anything custom from PdF is apparently a nightmare though! Samurai136 0 #16 April 24, 2003 That's cool. I figured it was a trick of the light. The close up of the reserve pc cleared things up. I'd still have a local rigger give it a good visual inspection, just to be safe.Blue Skies! Ken "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken
