dropoutdave 0 #1 April 12, 2005 Probably not that great quality but it's cheap and cheerful. The feedback seems quite good overall. Could be fun at the DZ. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=29503&item=5185150523&rd=1 ------------------------------------------------------ May Contain Nut traces...... mr2mk1g 10 #2 April 12, 2005 Sounds like you get an A4 plastic magnifying lens and plans to build a box holding it in front of your TV screen. Overall I think it looks like his customers are happy with the effect... those that never expected to see a full blown projector turn up in the post for £4.50 of course. Also appears to be a degree of home construction involved in the "box". The guys feedback profile is quite funny though. Here's some quotes from the pages I flicked through, all about the lens: Quoteif it doesn't work I can always take drugs and look through the wibbly lens :-) QuoteNot quite what i expected. but for what i paid for it, doubt it will work Reply by mel-s-mall: lens and plans are what you ordered - what did u expect . Diamonds?, a Camel? QuotePessimo ebayer, lo sconsiglio vivamente! Non risponde alle email e fa PACCHI! Reply by mel-s-mall: thats easy for you to say - i dont speak italian - u speako no englisho QuoteWOW LOOKS AS IF IT MIGHT JUST WORK, MAY ORDER MORE Quotenice design dont think i have the time to set something like that up a++++++++++
Storhemulen 0 #3 April 13, 2005 Sadly these kits are junk! Only works if you live in a bunker and haven't seen the sun in six months, their claims are mostly bogus. I've got a friend who built one, it turned out big, heavy and useless. To get somewhat useful brightness he had to take the tv to a repairshop where they turned up the brightness somehow. If you do want to build your own projector, check out the forums at http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=12 or the quite successful spawn off those forums www.lumenlab.com Be advised, it will still end up quite large, timeconsuming and expensive. You're the driver, not a passenger in life. dropoutdave 0 #4 April 13, 2005 Ahh well, you get what you pay for. If it sounds too good to be true it normally is. ------------------------------------------------------ May Contain Nut traces......
