Cookie 0 #1 May 24, 2005 I had a revelation today!!!!! I was trying on some of our gear and checking it for comfort and fit etc. and I noticed that there is generally a lot of scalp movement whilst wearing a helmet. Maybe just on my head With out a helmet on you can put your hand on your head close to your forehead and move your scalp quite considerably ie. up to 1 inch of movement from front to back. So after putting my helmet on and mucking around for a bit in front of the mirror, I noticed that if I raised my eyebrows this scalp movement was considerably reduced. I tried this again without the helmet, using my hand and my raised eye browes did reduce this scalp movement. So put it to the test as I'm keen to hear your comments on this. It may be the case that most jumpers tend to have WIDE EYES whilst in freefall and that those guys freefall footage might be the most steady. Thoughts Anyone??? AndyMan 7 #5 May 24, 2005 I guess it depends on the helmet. I know my FTP will not move at all when wracheted down tightly. I guess it's due to how the "bone" grips tightly onto the base of your skull. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
mwabd1 0 #6 May 24, 2005 Agree my FTP is ROCK STEADY.....a little tight above 10 grand but it stays still. ____________________________________.......I hereby reject your reality and instead choose to insert my own!
Zoter 0 #7 May 24, 2005 Ditto on my FF2......when the chincup is ratched down.....the only movement is through actual head movements...
StevePhelps 0 #8 May 24, 2005 My FTN does NOT move. I wait until almost door before I latch the buckle as it is plenty tight with simply the racthet.
Luza 0 #9 May 25, 2005 I don't think my helmet moves that much. But what I do know, is that I have way to much work to do today - and right now I'm sitting with the hands on my head and doing stupid things with mye eye brows....grmf
bobjoy9 0 #10 May 28, 2005 What's with the little pussy cat photos ? Come on guys, were supose to be tough skydivers Anyway, yeah I was doing the hand on my head raising my eyebrows thing as well, when reading the thread. Did you know there is a very few percentage of people who can actually lick there elbows? I think only 2 %- - "LIFE IS GOOD - LIVE IT" There's a little bit of EveL Knievel in all of us. MrHips 0 #11 June 9, 2005 Yeh cooookie, think your right. maybe its that movement that makes most skydivers bald at the front top of their head before our whuffo mates. Also check out the movement in helmet position when you stick a shutter release in your mouth (noticeable on helmets with with a ratcheting chin cup).
