dropoutdave 0 #1 April 27, 2003 I recently bought a Vortex II direct from Chute Shop in Durban, South Africa. They provided me with a full tax invoice as i requested so when i left the country i could claim the tax back on the rig. At the airport, however, the tax refund desk told me that their VAT number was not valid as all numbers start with a 4 and this started a 9. The exact same thing happend to a friend of mine who bought the same rig around the same time.Has anyone else come across this problem from Chute Shop, i have been in touch with them many times over the past few weeks and each time they have stalled me or told me that they would contact me? Surely every company should know their VAT numbers? Could anyone with a tax invoice for a vortex II please have a look at it and let me know if the VAT number begins with a 9 and not a 4. dropoutdave 0 #3 April 28, 2003 i think all the probs theyve had in the past are sorted now, i got mine about a month and a bit ago and took it to a rigger to get checked out after reading about problems in the past and he said it was finished really well and no problems at all. apart from the problem with their VAT number not one problem and the same with my friend who got the same rig. would definately recommend them to anyone. i just called them earlier and on friday but the phone seems to be on fax or internet? between me friend and i we should have been able to claim about £450 back so im pretty desperate for them to give me their real VAT number, plenty of jump tickets with that!! i think that when we got our rigs made we were some of the last people to get them at South African price, as i heard theyve put the prices up to the US price, still alot cheaper than most countries though and definately worth it. good luck man! ------------------------------------------------------ May Contain Nut traces......
