skycop806 0 #1 June 22, 2005 Ok, so I have a ripper. I have Pinnacle 8.0 and Microsoft Moviemaker. Pinnacle is designed to take the video from your camera. I can rip video and make movies with Moviemaker...however, I can't attach my own music to it and make it fade off at the end of the video clip :( Unless there is a suggestion on how to do this :) Anyway, is there any particular software that is really good at tying video clips together to make one movie? PhreeZone 20 #2 June 22, 2005 MovieMaker will do that, you just need to learn how to split clips and then adjust the volume on each clip.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
ockers 0 #3 June 22, 2005 Pinnacle will do that 4 U. You can do pretty much a full movie edit & production with it. It's pretty basic stuff but fine for whacking a couple of dozen jumps together onto a boogie DVD for personal use You just need to change MP3 format to WAV. I downloaded some software from the web. skycop806 0 #4 June 22, 2005 Again, I don't have my own DV camera... I have some jumps that were dumped to DVD by Superfletch and Nick Kime...and a couple other buddies. Will Pinnacle make a movie together with already made movies? It seems to just want to be able to d/l from the camera. I can't seem to figure out how to get the movies I d/l'd to my hard drive to get into the Pinnacle software
ockers 0 #5 June 23, 2005 Ah, sorry! Didn't read your post properly. Gut feeling suggests you are stuffed. Have a play with some of the capture settings and see if it will accept mpeg. If you can get the DVD into mpeg you may be in with a shout. Gut feeling still applies though! Failing that get hold of said camera people and borrow tape/DV camera. Good luck
br0k3n 0 #6 June 24, 2005 DVDs are encoded as mpegs (for unencrypted ones, simply rename the .vob files to .mpg). You're best off keeping the DVD in mpeg so don't lose quality transcoding to AVI and then back to mpeg. However, there aren't a lot of editors out there that work well with mpeg and, of course, if you add transitions, color correct, etc., you'll still have to render, losing a little quality in the process. If all you're doing is cuts editing, you shouldn't have too much of a problem.----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+
