I love my Jedei 105. There are a few different models floating around based on when it was made.

Me personally I would only buy one that was made around 1996 or before while it was still under Air Time. Make sure the canopy has the bottom skin stabilizers they make the canopy solid and surf like a banshee. I saw one (a 95) made about the same time without them and my teammate told me it was shaky and not solid. Now my teammates looks like hers is the sweptwing and she likes it, but mine is an original, both are 105. Its a great canopy for its time and still is great for a non cross braced canopy. Just love my Velocity.

I would say buy it, it will only go up in value ;)

Jedei's the only canopy that appreciates in value over time.

i HAVE FLOWN A JEDI A FEW JUMPS (SWEPTWING 120) AND IT WAS PRETTY SWEET...SEEMED KIND OF GROUND HUNGRY AND I DEFINATELY PREFER MY CF2 111 OVER IT... BUT ALL AROUND SEEMED LIKE A DECENT CANOPY, BUT I WOULDNT WANT TO BE UNDER IT ON A LONG SPOT

Just remember that the Jedei is an older canopy.. I own a Jedei 105 and it flyies great..But I get more out of other conventional eliptical canopies..
The nose on the Jedei is a little out dated and that makes a difference..BUT that is about the only real difference between the new elipticals and the older Jedeis..
For reference I bought mine for 400$ with 400 jumps on it.. If you arent getting a really good deal buy a newer canopy... And I am a Jedei owner and love my Jedei BUT I am just giving you the reality of the canopy..

Also not all Jedei's are the same.. I have jumped a few that had consistantly the craziest openings I have ever had... You really just need to jump it because if it is a crazy one you will know right off the bat becasue it will rap up quickly..

Oh yea.. My Jedei doesnt like the wind at all.. It does become difficult for really long spots.. I kind of consider it like a Velocity in the terms that it is a (two turn canopy when loaded heavily) You have two turns then you need to land... But that isonly when loaded heavily.. My friend Linette jumped one and was always a well behaved canopy and made it back from any long spots, loaded about 1.4:1... So give what you will be loading it a considerable thought before you buy an older canopy...

Dude, If you don't try it your gonna miss a premium opportunity!!

You're not mentioning how you're going to be loading it?

I've got only 17 (in a few days straight) jumps on a '96 Jedei 120 that was loaded about 1:6 and jumped previous to my CF2 119. The Jedei whips like my stiletto never could (200+ at 1:6.) Swoops ok, fast dive that holds clean and long, recovers fine. I like the wing, I'd buy it for my 'other' rig if I could find a good deal on one. I prefer my Crossfire.

Good luck, try it.

All you have to do to make it back from longer sports is go into rear risers.

I love my Jedi 105. Like my teammate said it gives me a nice performance for what I do with a canopy. I actually ended up putting my stiletto 97 in my back-up rig because I preferred the way the Jedi flies.

I looked at a Jedi 95 that was a prototype from 1996 but didn't have the stablizers. It wasn't as solid and the landings didn't surf as far as the 105.

I think Jedies are a great canopy, but it definitely depends on the model you get.

Rear risers. Rear Riser, Rear Risers. You can easily make it back from longer spots by poping the brakes and going into deeper rear risers. Will you make it farther back than a Velocity? No, but you can hang in there with any stiletto. And I load mine at 1.8 So its not a light load thing.

I wouldn't. I jump a Velocity 103 and think while they are more similar to each other than the velocity is to a stiletto after that they are very very different. The Velocity can be hooked much much higher. A Jedei just does not seem to want to come down. Jedei is also hooked much lower, and I get probably 10-15 turns before its time to land because its trim is not steep enough. Granted we could possibly have 2 totally different canopies with the same name;)
But I equate its performance to that of a Crossfire/Stiletto with a steeper trim. Riser pressure is also very light, and the toggle pressure is light also.

Good canopy for transitions to Xbraced or as a cheap backup for you.

I looooooove it.. I did 13 jumps last weekend on it and man was it great. great with the harness input and dives awesome. I was on 1 long spot and it had a nice flat glide (with rear risers) and made it back to the dz (with a nice tail wind) but once I opened I didnt think I would make it back at all.. can wait to hone my skills in on this one.
