Also, do a search on versiontracker.com ... iMovie brings up about 199 hits. I have add-ins from GeeThree, Virtix and others.

If you get adobe after effects you will be able to do almost anything you want to a video and even make your own transitions.

I use it all the time and their is alot to learn but worth it. see some of my vids

True!

iMovie, while a wonderful tool for the absolutely most basic type of NLE, is not what I would even call a a real NLE as it doesn't provide for any sort of off-line or redig of source material.

After Effects, isn't a NLE at all! It's a -very- extensible motion graphics platform that I would never suggest to anyone just making home movies. The learning curve is just too steep.

you can make your own transitions and effects and import them to imove
that is what I mean

I use it, then import my work to adobe premier pro
for editing.

Dont get dependent on transitions, they get to look cheesy after a while. Just look at normal films and see what, if any, transitions (besides fades and disolves) are being used.

But if you still want more transitions and are using a mac then get final cut and motion.
