Sony PC8 Camera Repair Parts

Recommended Posts

Hi
Anyone out there got a Sony PC8 camera that has been damaged in any of the following ways:

Lens mounting ripped off due to riser slap or getting caught.
Damaged camera module, commonly caused by the above.
Broken lanc port, either total or intermittent fault due to damaged Lanc socket.
Damaged or broken viewfinder, touch screen.
Damaged or well worn casing.

If your answer to any of the above is YES then this might be for you.

I have a limited number of genuine Sony PC8 camera housing assemblies including the camera modules.
As you are probably aware Sony camera parts are expensive, the last PC8 I repaired had a new lens mounting assembly fitted, this is the small plastic mounting ring that your wide angle lens screws into, the cost for this small plastic part from Sony was £128 without fitting.ouch!!

The housing assemblies that I have are in perfect condition, some still have the original tags on them, they comprise of the following items, camera housing casings (left and right) viewfinder/touchscreen assembly, Lanc/video/mic assembly, complete camera module with lens mounting ring.

Have a look at the photos in the attached PDF file.

Items not included are the electronic PCBs and the miniDV cassette mechanism, it’s the camera and case assembly only so if your camera has a tape or electronic PCB fault, sorry but you are out of luck and will have to retire your camera to a door stop.

Interested in getting that PC8 working again, £65 plus postage for the complete assembly, I only have a limited number of these units, once they are gone that’s it.

If you don’t want to do the work, contact me and for a fixed fee I will carry out the work for you subject to your camera being an operational unit, i.e good tape mechanism and PCB electronics.

I have been working with Sony camera for the past 3 years and can unlock various features on a range of the older Sony cameras, the most common one being DV in and analogue in for attaching a remote camera, interested?

Some of you might even know me, I used to work in the shop at skydive empuriabrava in Spain up until spring this year. Great place to be but things change. I am now back permanently in the UK down on the south coast, working outside skydiving now but still continue to jump.
