adrenalinejunki 0 #1 October 19, 2005 I have a PC109 and cannot get it to download into my PC. I did'nt have a PC when I bought the camera and have misplaced the software CD that came with it. I went to sony.com and downloaded the drivers and installed them. It still will not even recognize my camera. Any ideas why not? __________________________________________________What's the worst that can happen?
ltdiver 3 #2 October 19, 2005 You're using firewire, not USB, right? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
Zoter 0 #3 October 19, 2005 A bit more info on the system you are running and the connection you are using to your PC would help. I beleive XP already comes with generic drivers for most Sony Cams......so I'm guessing its not XP...
mr2mk1g 10 #4 October 19, 2005 What program are you using to capture the footage?
adrenalinejunki 0 #5 October 19, 2005 I am using XP and the USB that came with my camera. Also the software that came with my camera to try to capture the video. It is the shittiest software I have ever seen. Not easy to figure out at all. So far I have got it to download 2 times and can't seem to get the USB streaming tool window to come up again. It is really beginning to piss me off. I am going to get a firewire for it but don't have it yet. __________________________________________________What's the worst that can happen? PhreeZone 20 #6 October 19, 2005 USB does not do video. Firewire does. The USB on Sony camera is for accessing the memory stick, the firewire is for accessing the video tape. adrenalinejunki 0 #7 October 19, 2005 Any idea what kind of firewire to buy? PC109 __________________________________________________What's the worst that can happen?
PhreeZone 20 #8 October 19, 2005 Cheapest possible. All Firewire cards/cables are the same basically. Some come in fancier packages and you get to pay more for them. Hit up a local MircoCenter or other large computer store. Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry's, etc are all way too over priced unless its an item you absolutly need today type deal. If you are needing a wire and a card and want to order online look at www.newegg.com. You are going to need a 4 pin to 6 pin wire to go camera to PC and a 4 pin to 4 pin to go camera to camera.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

adrenalinejunki 0 #11 October 20, 2005 Well I got the camera to download finnaly and with the USB. Still getting a firewire so the quality will be better. Ordered Sony Vegas editing software so I can play with it over the winter and try to get to know the software so I will be ready for spring next year. I will probly be doing the video editing for the tandems since our normal video guy has taken a job that forced him to move away. Hopefully someone with alot more jumps will be flying the camera. Thanks for the help everyone. __________________________________________________What's the worst that can happen?
pilotdave 0 #12 October 20, 2005 QuoteYou are going to need a 4 pin to 6 pin wire to go camera to PC and a 4 pin to 4 pin to go camera to camera. Depends on the computer (or firewire card). My laptop has a 4-pin. Just built a new desktop last night and it has one of each (bought the parts at newegg.com btw...great prices!). Dave
