PhreeZone 20 #1 October 19, 2005 Ok... there I was... thought I was going to break my camera even more then I already did.... I tried to clean some really nasty dust specks off my CCD of my 10D and ended up scratching the sensor. I was pissed big time but called Canon to send it in and get a quick estimate. First guy I talked to guessed 350-500, second guess was 300-400 for repairs. It was a damn hard call if I should just buy a 350D or repair my 10D at that price. I opted to repair it and I'm glad I did. Total repair bill including tax, shipping and a complete refurbishment of my camera came out to be just over $200. Still a damn expensive mistake I made, but Canon was nice enough to flash it with the latest Bios, clean the contacts and except the surface scratches its a new camera. I HIGHLY recommend Canon's Factory Service if you are having any issues with your cameras.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
outlawphx 1 #2 October 21, 2005 Well that's good news! When you first mentioned it was a $500 repair, I decided that I'm never taking any camera equipment apart
